As a teacher, Dr. Howells' philosophy is based on the principle that each vocal instrument is unique. Using breath management and resonance balancing, and emphasizing diction and musicality, Nancy works with each student to help them move their vocal goals. Students are encouraged to take ownership of their own technique, and are expected to display mastery of technical skill not only through practice and performance but also through feedback in lessons.
 
Nancy is a member of the faculty of Indian Hill Music Center in Littleton, MA. She is Vocal Artist in Residence at the Weston (MA) Public Schools, is a member of CAMSA (Concord Area Music School Association) and NATS (National Association of Teachers of Singing).

Beginning, intermediate, and advanced students are all welcome; by emphasizing healthy vocal production, each student is enabled to use his or her own voice. Classical or Broadway, teenager or adult - the goal is to make the best possible use of each student's individual instrument.
